Hello! My name is Madalynn and I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm a twenty-four year old movie enthusiast who has a passion for all things classic. Whether it's video games, movies, television shows, or even books, you can expect me to have a great interest in it.
I started my love for video games and television shows before anything else. I would spend hours upon hours on the couch as I watched my brother play The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. At the very young age of three, I was already in love with that little pixeled boy. As I got older, I remember sneaking into my oldest brother's room just to read the Nintendo Power magazines that featured the A Link to the Past comics. A couple of years later, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time came out... and I instantly fell in love. I started my own fan club in second grade (with just me in it, of course) and would play when my brother was busy sleeping or doing homework. That was when my love for The Legend of Zelda really took off, and it's been that way ever since.
Television shows were even greater. I grew up in the 90s, an era with plenty of fantastic shows (that I still watch to this very day). I think my biggest two were definitely "Full House" and "Boy Meets World." They are still comforting shows to me and I watch them whenever I can. As I got older, I would watch whatever my dad had on... "Star Trek," "Perry Mason," "Leave it to Beaver," "Father Knows Best," and "Gilligan's Island." I also really loved Nick at Nite--"The Brady Bunch" and "Bewitched" were my favorites. I fell in love with all these shows that were created and finished before I was even born. And I think that's what ignited my passion for all things classic.
My first classic movie that I can remember was It's A Wonderful Life. I watched it every Christmas with my dad and I loved it more every single year. I'd catch some others here and there, especially around the holidays when Miracle on 34th Street would come on. And then, I turned 15. I couldn't sleep one night and decided to watch some television. And there I found Turner Classic Movies. I would watch some movies here and there, and then their 31 Days of Oscar event was on television. The rest was history!
Besides the very obvious interests and hobbies I have, I'm a part time associate at Bath & Body Works (mostly doing floorsets) and I play League of Legends in my spare time. I also babysit my numerous nieces and nephews. I love photography, writing, my cats and dogs, sewing, baking, binge watching television shows, doing crafts, and being outside (when I have sunscreen on, at least).
I'm also in a long distance relationship with a boy who lives in the United Kingdom (Liverpool, to be exact). We met through a mutual friend and instantly became very close, and we have now been together for over a year! We officially met in person back in November, where he stayed with me for a full seven weeks! He's definitely my best friend and soul mate, and I can't picture my life without him. I've never been this happy in my entire life. And it's official! He's returning to the states this summer and will be here for three months!
Although the process is a big annoying and frustrating, our hope is to have him eventually move over here within the next year or two!
